Classic 5th Gen Camaros??
Do you guys think the 5th gen Camaros will ever be considered classics or collectible, like the '67-'69 models are today? I bet they will be. The 1969 model was always one of my dream cars, but I like the current Camaros even better. I think GM really knocked the ball out of the park when they designed these cars. I'd even go so far as to say, the current crop of Camaros are the best looking cars ever produced by Chevrolet.
I hate to say it, but I don't think the upcoming 6th Gen will be an improvement. What do you think?

Not a chance not even the Z/28 or ZL1 I do not see the 5th Gens ever reaching the status of the 1st Gen's.

I think MAYBE a few of the special edition/special colors MIGHT be some day, but not to the extent that 60's Camaros are today. But your run of the mill SS, 1LE, etc, nope.

I think so, the ZL1, Z/28 and 1LE versions are worthy of being classics some day. Even the regular RS/SS/LT look classic. As far as performance goes there is little comparison between the C1 and C5. It will still be hard for me to give up my C5 even if I really like the new C6.

nope will never happen. i posed the same question a few months ago wondering but it is highly doubtful. not even the ZL1. too many produced compared to back in the 60's to make it a collectors items.

Collectible? Maybe not. Will they still be sought after 50 years down the road? Definitely. I don't see why they wouldn't be..

I was thinking about this a few days ago.
I think some models like the first 2010's and some of the first runs of the ZL1's and 2014's Z/28'. But other then that, I dont see much in the future for them.

By the time my car could even be considered a classic, I'll be 93 years old at least! I'm going to enjoy this car as much as I can. I enjoyed my '69 Z28 for 17 years, but I love my 1LE so much more with the modern technology. The 5th Gen will always be popular and I think it is the best generation so far.
As far as 6 Gen goes, I hope that GM knocks it out of the park. I agree that it seems to be an evolution, but not near enough for me to want it. I remember when I bought my '81 Z28, last year of the 2nd Gen when I saw what the 3rd Gen looked like and that horrible cross fire injection. Some people will be excited about the 6th Gen and some people will regret that they didn't get a 5th Gen model when they had the chance. |
