How much power (audio-system wise) is safe?

Looking to get an amp/sub setup for the Maro in the near future...

I am curious what is a safe bet to avoid sucking up too much juice in the Camaro?

wattage etc... And has anyone heard many systems in person in the 5th gens yet?

Am looking into some JL's or MTX's, am concerned more about not taxing the cars juice and not damaging anything, more than I am with the cost of the system... so any input would be appreciated.

Also..... are there any problems concerns long term with having a bigger sound system in the car that could lead to potential problems/damage over time?

And what about warranty? Is messing with wiring to install a system gonna funk with that?

Also.... I am leaning more towards sound quality with decent bass... Not trying to sound like a sasquatch is breaking out of my trunk as I rattle down the street looking like a douche bag.

I've heard pretty good stuff about clarity in JL as well as 10W7 - JL Audio 10" SVC Subs being an adequate size. Anyone play with these at all? How powerful of an amp for a nice crisp sound, nothing too cheap, nothing over done.

I think this setup is just what the doctor ordered. The 5ch amp really rocks the front separates. The sub pounds more than I will ever need. We will power the rear deck speaker tomorrow, and see what they are capable of. We filtered our 40hz and below out of the doors.

If you want to be safe, install a 500-600w amp and stop. My amp is 1,000w monoblock and I don't have any trouble.

500watt system or less(peak rating). Long term effects will require a new battery. Look for efficient speakers to put power to good use, otherwise you won't get much use for say, 500w RMS rated speakers...
