Hello all, I was just cleaning out my Volant cold air intake (came with the car when I bought it) and I decided to just dust it out.. well I did, put everything back how it was and now my check engine light came on.. did I do something wrong or do I just need to reset something? Thanks

Check and make sure you didn't accidently pull off one of the PCV hoses from the engine. If you did you are introducing unmetered air into the engine throwing the CEL.
Have you had the code read?

Yea I double checked everything, tightened everything.. no I haven't had it read yet.. i'll go get it read later today though

I take it you didn't add any oil to the filter?

Next step is get the code read. Then go from there.

Um, well the remote start doesn't work.. I've made a big mistake..

disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then try again.

Oh well in just went away.. I went to the store, tried the remote start and it worked and the CEL went away.. weird..

The remote start will not work when the CEL is on. That part is normal.

You can still get a code reading if it hasn't been too long, it will be a pending code.
And yes, remote start will not work whenever there is a check engine light on.

Go to autozone and they can read it for you
