possibly scared off a camaro as a dd

For the last year, I've been thinking of buying my first car. I was fairly certain I wanted a camaro. I love the muscle car appeal. Till I finally pull the trigger, I've been driving my folks 96? Dodge intrepid. Front wheel drive v6 on all season tires. Folks are fine with whatever car I decide on. I'm about 15 miles to the nearest town, about 35 to work. I usually go into the closest town, northport, on Saturdays to hang out with friends. Only problem is the county doesn't usually plow on the weekends. And between my place and northport, there's a windy, at times narrow Road with a fairly large hill, known as lotts hill. My last three experiences with going up that hill have not been fun. First time I barely made it up the hill with about 3 inches of snow on the ground. Last two times I've wised up and used chains. The hills probably a good 20 degree slope. Those experiences have kinda shaken me off the rear wheel sports car as a dd. Would good snow tires and modern stability control/traction control be good enough or should I be considering my second choice of an fj cruiser or possibly a new jeep renagade.? Would like your input.

There are 365 days in a year. Your going to let what, maybe 3 or 4 of those days dictate? Personally I would buy what you want most. Stay closer to home on those few days of weather. You will enjoy the rest of the 361 days without regret!

We usually have snow and ice on the roads about 3 or 4 months out of the year

We just got hit with about 6 inches of snow. I have not driven my car in about 4 days. My next plan is to get a garage for it then ill save up some money and get a work car. Something cheap I dont travel far for work maybe 10miles or so. My suggestion is if you want a Camaro get somewhere to store it for winter. It sucks to see her buried in snow.

Most people around here get studded tires for snow.

So i don't live in your area i'm on the East Coast and have shitty weather where i am ice, snow white outs and worse. Just get snow tires and for extra traction get them studded i've made some miracle runs up steep, long hills with 6" inches of snow, wind and ice under it all with just snow tires.
