Anyone that has a nightowl kit

Was it hard to learn how to use it? I have a guy that works for them trying to explain to me how it works but I'm not understanding him very well lol! My old colorshifts had a remote 8 buttons labeled 1, 2, 3, 4 ect and they all had their own color to them. So when I wanted blue, I just hit 1, red I hit 2, and so on. But with nightowl, there is a master and all this stuff. I just wanna hit a button and get a color lol!

You can make it as simple or as complicated as you want. I have a couple different settings, one for all items being 1 color and bunch of others with different colors/effects.

I have it setup where I can click 1 button and make all my lights orange, blue, or whatever color I want on the color wheel. You just select what lights you want in the group and what color you want them. If you want multiple colors you just select the lights you want, color you want, and turn on that option. It's actually really simple and fun to play with.

This is probably the easiest way to change your colors.. they also include a remove with the kit (or at least they did when I bought mine).. The install itself is super easy.. its only going to take you a long time on the first headlight, after that the other will be a lot quicker.

Its really easy and not hard to learn...

For Example....Lets see if I can explain it out....

Lets say you want to have Headlight Halos and fog light Halos.....Thats a total of 4 different lights/LEDs. Each Headlight and each Halo have its own ring. The same goes for under glow lights. If you put a strip in the back thats one, a strip on the passenger side is two, a strip on the front is three and final strip on drivers side is 4.

So with the above you have 4 different lights/Devices to control in headlights Halo and Fog Halo. In Night Owl SL box there is 4 different slots or channels. The Driver side Halo wiring goes into Channel one, Passenger side Halo into Channel two, Passenger Fog Halo into channel three, and Drivers Fog light halo in Channel 4.

When opening the Night owl App you will go into your settings Menu. Each one of the above 4 Channels/Devices show up inside the app and need to be named. I named mine Divers Halo, Passenger Halo, Divers Fog, Passenger Fog.

Now that the Channels/Devices are named you have the option to control a main default color...you can set them all to white or set them to any color you want. That will be your main Default color. So if you want to have White driving Headlights and Fogs set them all to white.

Now for "Functions". The Night owl app comes with preset functions built in. Fireworks, Strobe or Fade in/out are all "Functions". What you have to do now is choose what Channels you want to be part or inside that "Function". So you would choose Fireworks as a "Function" and then inside that function you will have the option to choose and place check marks next to the Drivers Halo Channel, Passenger Halo Channel and Drivers Fog Channel. When choosing, these will be part of the Fireworks "Function" when pressed. Make sense?? If you noticed I left out the Passenger Side Fog Channel. Since not checking this it will remain off when the Fireworks "Function" is pressed. It can always be added later to the function by simply going back under the Fireworks tab and adding a check beside Passenger Halo. Inside the "Function" of the Fireworks tab you also have the option to control the speed of the fire works transition and also other options.

Does that make sense??

All excellent info above and it's not complicated at all. On the contrary, it's addictive and FUN to play with!

Anyone that has a nightowl kit

So inside the Night Owl App you will have a configuration menu like this shown below. I recommend you go into the Channel Names column first. Thats where you will name each Channel/Device Ie Headlight Halo, Passenger Halo.

Once you have named each Channel you will then now go into the Modules tab. Under the Modules Tab by default you will see Device A, B, C, D and so on. Under this module tab you will choose the "Default Color" you want you lights to be when not in a Function type mode. You can also go into any color correction sceneries if needed here. This helps if you Right Halo is not the same color as the Left and so on.

Lets go on to the Add Program or 'Function". These are the preset "Functions" mentioned in last posting. There is a lot as seen here. Will choose Fireworks

When choosing Fireworks you see the option to name the Program and also to choose which Channels to be in the Program. You can also choose the timing of the program or how fast things occur. When choosing the channels tab inside Fireworks you get the option to choose what items you want

Now when opening the Night owl app you will have your programs shown here. I don't have fireworks setup but would be the same as choosing Grill or TCU. This would initiate the program to run
