serious problem need advice, update good news at bottom

hey everyone sorry to have to post this, if this isnt the right area please move. Theres highlights at the bottom.

I just found out today at my job that i'm starting an intense training on monday working m-f 8am-4pm for the next 90 days. I've been there 1.5 years with no prior experience in this field. I have been going to school full time since i started because that was a condition of the job. I am an electrical and instrumentation trainee. I have been on nights by myself for the last month and a half-two months. I had a few problems because some equipment i had not previously worked on quit working and had to call my boss in the middle of the night to ask how to i fix it. I didnt want to have to call but i didnt want the downtime to be any longer than it has to be. I havent had any real training since i've been there, i mostly did projects and wired up motors when i was on day shift, I never had any troubleshooting experience training or PLC training. My boss even told me on one of the things that I didnt have the experience to know where to begin with one of the things.

My question is should I just start trying to sell my camaro now? I know they will pay for 9 months if you lose your job but i dont know how hard it is to get that. I know that I will quit buying anything unnecessary to try and save up as much as i can in the next 90 days. I have another car but it has 173k miles on it, so i dont know if its worth trying to sell it when i cant get that much out of it. I have been trying to sell some of my shoes that i've collected over the years because i have many that are brand new that are worth more than i paid for them now.

Sorry for the long read but any advice will be appreciated

also i'm about half way done with my AA in the electrical program i've been doing for the last 1.5 years. so i dont know if i should just sell and try to finish school or what. Thanks again

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the replies here it is in short(well shorter)
-I already have my camaro(dont want to lose it)
-been at my job for 1.5 years
-Was told i'm being given 90 days to get up to where i need to be at my job
-the training will be paid
-I have money in the bank (enough for 6 months of payments)
-I know how to do many things at my job just certain equipment i've never worked on
-I have had some training at the job but mostly i did easy stuff and projects (tearing out cabinets, running cable, hanging lights, etc...)
But since i've been on nights by myself there have been things that broke down that i didnt know how to troubleshoot

UPDATE
dont know if anyone will care but thought i'd share anyways. My new supervisor today talked to me about enrolling in school again next quarter. She said that unless i just give up basically i will not be losing my job. They have deffinitely noticed a big improvement. I was very excited when she told me. The other guy that was my boss until the new supervisor got hired said the same thing about noticing the improvement.

Hmmmmmmm, let me try.

You could have done the cash for clunkers deal.
Not sure what you're asking. Do you think you're gonna get let go?

If so I would definitely wait on the Camaro.
But not sure if you bought it allready.

Little clarification?

Why would they spend the money to train you for the next 3 months if they were planning on letting you go? It sounds to me like they want to keep you... they just want you trained better.

I'm mildly confused...

recap? You have a job you don't know how to do, and no one showed you how to do. You had some issues, now you're being sent to mandatory training where you will NOT be paid? I must be missing something.

IF... IF I understand your issue correctly, you are basically not going to receive a paycheck for 90 days, but then you are going back to work as usual? If that is the case, and you REALLY dont want to lose your Camaro (I think we would all understand that problem), I would try to get an unsecured personal loan to cover at least one, maybe 2 payments, and try to cover one on your own. I know when I joined the military there was a gap where I had no money, I was able to get a $5k 60month loan to pay all the bills until I was receiving a paycheck again. It would be much harder in todays economy to walk in and get $5k, but you should be able to get $1500-2000 without too much trouble.

Again, this is all pointless if I misunderstood your post.

well my boss said he thinks i'm smart and thinks I can do it but he asked me if it was what i really wanted. I do like my job and deffinitely like the money but i'm affraid what if in 90 days i'm still not there and i do lose my job. I dunno i just worry alot. I guess i'll just be careful with my money and try to sell my shoes in the mean time and see what happens at the end of nov.

Mind boggling to me how or why anyone would have that many shoes... 1 pair of running shoes, 2 pair of dress shoes, 3 pair of cowboy boots, and 4 pair of combat boots, that's as many shoes as my closet has ever seen...

Ok, wait a minute. If you got those shose like that, maybe a little quieter about it. lol

Anyway, YES, sell the shoes to make the payments on the car while you're in the classes.

AND, be confident and diligent about your skills. Learn the job and excell.
