Car been worked on but taking to long

I got rear ended a bout 2 months ago and my Camaro was placed in a GEICO collision center a little before thanksgiving. The damages were to the back bumper and front bumper due to me hitting someone from in front of me . To me the damages were not that bad but after 2 months I still have not received my car. The dealer is paying for the rental car but is 2 months normal for rear and forward bumper replacement ?

Call your insurance company and figure out what the hold up is. They should be able to explain what's going on.

WAY too long! Even If you had some mechanical damage, no way it take 2 months even with the holidays. Definitely give Geico a call.

I'd be asking the shop for weekly status updates at this point.

There are sometimes delays that nobody can prevent. Parts, backlog of work, hidden damage. But this seems unnecessarily long, especially if they haven't communicated status or roadblocks.

Yeah.....two months is too long.

But look at it this way......with all the crappy whether you folks are having up that way, it may not be such a bad thing that your Camaro is 'put away' for the winter.

Jus' sayin' .

I actually thought about that. I mean I have a rental and I'm not putting miles on my car but I definitely want my car by the time weather starts to break

Well called them earlier and its just one thing after another . A couple weeks ago they needed to redo the paint Job then the next week its they need a harness cause my back up camera isn't working. No they tell me there was dirt in the paint job that needed to be buffed out. They always end the call we will try to be done today aka we might call you next week

If they acknowledge that the delay is due to them messing up the paint job at least twice, perhaps you can relay that info to Geico and have them move it to another shop.

They aren't busting their ass for you, because you aren't the customer, Geico is. I'm sure Geico has standard expected times for completion, and wouldn't want to have other cars of theirs brought there if this is how they do things.

I mean, who is to say that when they finally feel it is "done" that it is done properly?
