Trying to Figure Out Goals and Who to Go With
So this is probably going to be a fairly lengthy post so fair warning. On my 2010 L99, I would like to have a shop put a supercharger package together for me and install it all obviously. Problemo numero uno, I'm in North Carolina and looking at the list of site vendors, there is one here in NC, I just don't ever see them post much on here (which I've only been here for a few months) but I've also never really seen any members talk about them either.
Second issue is the fact that I want a tough balance between plenty of horsepower/torque, on factory rods, pistons, crank, tranny, and rear end, but still keep it reliable and keep from rebuilding it every year. The car is not a daily driver, it gets driven AT MOST, three days a week. Its not going to be a track car, I might take it to the strip just to see what its capable of but it won't be an often occurrence. This would be the first car that I've really been past the point of just bolt ons so I'm all ears to advice. What I have in mind is a supercharger system (Magnacharger, Whipple?), ported heads, upgraded valvetrain parts, custom camshaft, high flow fuel system, headers, high flow cats, Magnaflow Comp exhaust and then a tune obviously. I'm curious as to what this package would make to the wheels as I would LIKE to be 650-700 to the wheels. But again, I'm not sure if that is possible on the stock rotating assembly/driveline and if it will live for years. Any and all help is absolutely appreciated

Step 1. You know you want a blower. 2. Get someone to spec you out a custom blower cam. 3. Get that bad boy installed and delete the afm. Dunno if they make vvt blower cams but if they do I would like to see those numbers and curve. 4. Look into a blower. Shipping a car is around $500. If it's not a DD you can get almost any of the best shops around the country to do the work. .02 cents

You are in the heart of NASCAR, I would think someone there can make you some horsepower. Have you talked to Hendriks?

I did just what you're looking for. They do make VVT blower cams. With the right cam and pulley, 600 plus is plausible. 700 on stock lower is possible, but stressful on the lower...
I did the LSA SC with kit From ADM. My build thread is long, but will give you an idea of what to expect. Also, ADM has shipping of cars to their shop if you go that route... -Don

Other option is just slap on a twin kit. Done. 650-700 no issues. No cams, no headers, no added parts. Tons of torque, tons of low end, and sweet sounds.

Twins are great for sure...
It all depends on what you want. I do like the LSA/kit as its factory and GM parts are all around. A lot to consider! Good luck (twins do have an awesome sound)... -Don

If you are starting from scratch, haven't got a bunch of other mods, can't beat the price. $7500 turbo kit gets you 650+rwhp on auto. Blower needs pulleys, fuel upgrades, headers, cam, etc etc. Easy 10k+ to get 650rwhp out of an auto with most blowers.

LSA kit is a good start but he wants a 650 goal which does need more for sc. 630 to 650 would need a cam and pulley upgrade. Installs are quite different too...
Cost are vey similar for each depending on choices made.. The LSA kit with cam and pulley gets around 630... All good choices... -Don

L99 lifters aren't bad, with stock cam and stock or less red line.
Tranny will be the limit. 3/4 clutch packs are good for ~690ish. At 650rwhp should live a long happy life.

The AFM lifters are an issue as miles pile up -- talk to Rhino79 from GPI -- he deals with L99s quite a bit (he works for a GM/Chevy dealer) and really suggested the lifters be replaced -- but then again, I was doing a cam and heads too -- but he did say they are seeing problems on some stock L99's.

Yes, but even non-dod lifters go out. I had one fail on my car.
If you do a cam, yes replace them. If you plan to rev high, yes. But if you are keeping stock valve train, and stock cam, you can make 600+ no issues.

Research is your friend... don't take my word for it -- talk to folks and verify...
