Going Ghetto

Showed my new ZL1 to a good friend of mine yesterday. He laughed when he saw the inside and said "HA, you're so Ghetto!"

I'm owning it - I have ghetto tastes, can't help it. Went into a hobby store and bought some micro-suede fabric to make an upper back pillow as the lumbar on the seats was pushing into old horse injury spinal fractures. Worked great. But I kept thinking about this loud upholstery fabric that just struck me when I was there, and after a month I went back and bought some.

As I love to rest my shifting arm on a console, I first built the console. Then wrapped a piece of upper cheapy seat pad from autozone in this fabric as it sits on the passenger seat. I'm going for it. Will sew that one, then cover the driver one as well.

Going really ghetto, made a "center" marker for the steering wheel. Think I'll cover the plastic cup holders hanging down on the right side of the center with fabric too. It's going to be LOUD, and plenty ghetto.

Don't give a hoot about flames - this is my livingroom on wheels. The place I don't cross over into is making any permanent changes to the car, all just superficial stuff easily removed.

But really curious if I'm the only one who does ghetto, or others sneak weird stuff into their fancy cars!

Who really cares about what the next guy thinks about your car !really ?
You only need one reason to do what you want , your taste
But in your case you have more , as you described above
Do what you want , and if doing so , even helps you enjoying your car pain free , more power to you
Oh , just don't get a Raiders anything in the deco/
They are moving back to LA , not soon enough tho !

Haha, you do have a special taste. But as long as you enjoy it, more power to you and it is certainly unique.

to me it looks like a very power full version of a Hindustan Ambassador Taxi

so true. the vette forum ( no offense intended ) is a bunch of old farts with no humor or very dry humor. Serious types. The Honda forum is a bunch of kids where the frequent mod chat is about LED bulb brightness. LOLOLOL

Haha I can dig it, making it your own and more comfortable. I have a scarf on my center console as well it matches my interior so almost looks like it belongs there.

I tried to sit in Camaro seats and said no way. I also have a spine injury, fused neck. I sat in the Mustang GT500 with the Recaro seats. I didn't like the Mustang so I came home and found out the Recaros were available. Have not looked back. Enjoy your car lifes to short to worry about what other people think. Sam
