So I am still debating if I want a sunroof or not. I haven't had one in any of my vehicles, but have been wanting one. My issue is the lack of head room, the only way I would be able to have the sunroof and still be able to drive is if I leaned the seat back even further. I'm 6'1" but it seems like every time I sit in a camaro my head is brushing the headliner, sunroof or no sunroof. I would just hate to get then regret it not being a comfortable drive. I have already put my order in at my local dealer but I still have time to add the sunroof. Any input is welcome.
Or is there anybody in College Station or Houston, Tx that has recaros and a sunroof that wouldn't mind me sitting in their car to see if it is even possible for me to fit comfortably? Thanks. |

Another thing to consider is if you plan to track the car it will be tight with a sunroof and helmet... I rode in my parents camaro today after driving my car to their house and I swear the seats in their 11 2SS adjust lower than my recaros

I do intend to track the car at some point. I didn't even think about the helmet issue.

I'm 6'2 and LOVE my sunroof. I belong to a local Camaro club and the one thing I here is "I wish I would have ordered the sunroof." If you pull the inside shade back, you have more room the without a sunroof.

I did not get sunroof on my 2010, and regretted it. Was one of the reasons I traded in for my 2SS. If I had sunroof in my 2LT, I probably wouldn't have entertained the idea when the salesman came to me to see if I was interested in trading my car in.

6'-3". Love my sunroof. I don't have Recaros (wouldn't have 'em), but I have no issues. Seats adjust low enough to avoid any headroom issues.

Car looks better on the outside without the sunroof. Sunroof cars don't have the reverse mohawk contour.
And leak stories are common. Not around the seal, but due to detached drain hoses inside the car. I've has sunroofs before, but stayed away on the Camaro. |

Convertible. The only way to fly. Otherwise, sunroof.

I am a short person, but I love my sunroof, never had any leaks etc with it. I am not a convertible fan, too much noise for me but a sunroof is perfect.

Personally, I don't miss not having a sunroof. Had one on my G8, it was nice but a novelty. Have one on my wife's Grand Am, the drain plugged up and leaked all over the interior. In the Camaro even if I could have one (too tall for one) I wouldn't. The only open roof option for me on this car is convertible.

I love my sunroof. With black interior opening the shade lets some light in and it isn't as dark, which I like. I'm 5'11" and had to lower the seat and recline it a bit or my head would be brushing the headliner.
One thing I've noticed about Camaro compared to my last two cars is that the sunroof doesn't seem to open as far. It also pops up before it slides back where my other cars would slide straight back. It's not really an issue; just a little different. It does seem to be less windy in the car with the sunroof tilted up when it's open. |

I have one and use it all the time. No leaking issues so far.

6'5, sunroof, love it, no probs, lets my jew-fro blow in the wind.
But I voted not necessary. Because it isn't. |
