Steering Wheel Controls Slow To Respond

Is it normal for the steering wheel controls to be slow or take a couple of clicks to register?

When I press volume up, sometimes nothing happens and have to press it a second or third time. Then it will work the rest of the way up.

When I roll my wheel to skip to the next song, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't until the third or fourth attempt.

When I had MyLink I had this problem, but thought it was just the MyLink system being slow. I have since installed a Scosche daskit and see the same results on my Kenwood HU.

If it is a problem with the actual controls what's the odds my warranty will fix since I have an aftermarket radio?

Can anyone confirm that their steering wheel controls work 100% and that what I'm seeing isn't typical?

Mine only act up when I'm playing music through my iPhone (bluetooth and plugged in). I have a 2015 1LE with Mylink.

Sounds like something wrong in the wiring or controls. It's not normal.

I was thinking a compatibility issue with ios8 and MYLINK. But since he's having issues with a different deck, I'm inclined to agree that it might be a wiring issue.

I have a 2014 SS/RS also. I left the factory headunit, but added amps and a sub in the back. I do notice that sometimes it does not recognize when I hit the button to skip a track instantly. Sometimes I hit it a second time to get it to work. Not sure about the volume, don't really remember it giving me any problems. I only use the USB stick for music, not sure if that has anything to do with it. From time to time when I start the car it "forgets" the USB stick is there and somehow goes to the radio instead. I have to select the USB stick again. Strange.............

I do like how it shows me the song that is playing in the heads-up display though. That is one of the reasons I left the stock head unit in.

This is the Boston Acoustics system by the way.

Same issue in my Equinox and Cruze with my link. I have the standard radio and don't really have any issues with the Camaro

Mine is the same, very slow. I don't even use it anymore. I just reach for the dash volume and I have the stock Boston acoustics system and the bose system in my truck is so much better in many ways.

I really hate that it has to "index" every time i plug it in. There should be a way to store the files. If there is a way, someone PLEASE share!

This is where I notice it the most, changing the volume. I have to hold the button up (or down) for a little over a second before it registers with the radio. I didn't have to do that with my 2012, it was pretty much immediate. I'm guessing it's a design change from the factory. Perhaps a lot of people were complaining of inadvertent channel changes or volume changes while they were driving so the engineers put a slight delay in the first press.

Yeah mine is a 2014. I don't think it should be called a feature, more a flaw. Makes me think my Camaro isn't responsive. Just wondering what will happen when I go to the dealer, since I have an aftermarket HU installed.

You say that you are using the controls from an iPhone on iOS 8.

Is the music stored on the phone or are you streaming?

If you change the song on the phone is it instant or there is a delay equivalent to steering wheel controls?
