o2 sensor fail after 3700 miles
I had the o2 sensor replaced today under warranty after my check engine light came on. I found it odd and asked the service writer, whom I've known for a long time, "Is this common?" He said, "no not really but I've seen transmissions fail with only 500 miles"
Has anybody else had an o2 sensor go out on their unmodified car? |

I did in the first year of ownership, I think it was around 2500-3000 miles; wasn't an easy replacement because the factory had crossed the threads so had to wait for a new cat as well...no problem since.

it is somewhat common...they are mass produced parts and the heating element can fail as well as the 02 itself. Of course, it is all in one unit so it must be replaced. No worries, it isn't a catastrophic event.
