Can You Have Open Headers At Idle
Is there a cutouts brand or rig that automatically opens when car is in idle? Like the electric cutouts some of you put on. That would be cool kind of like NPP. I would just want it to open when it's in neutral and close when it's in gear.

You could just use the electronic cutouts and manually do it. You would have control.
Do you have any sound clips of your car with the new headers?

You could probably wire it to the brake lights and install a relay to not turn on until after a few seconds of the brake pedal being pressed. But one would raise the question... why not just run it screaming all the time?

Because it doesn't sound as good as a catback. I'm talking something similar to npp. The npp opens after a certain rpm and when idling I think right? I just want the loudest idle without a cam. And without having to do it manually.

a Camaro while under load sounds better through catback than open headers or cutouts?
i think it would sound really weird as you have this super loud camaro next to you at a light and when it turns green the noise is gone. yeah a catback sounds good compared to stock..but the catback sounds mute compared to having cutouts open.

Now that I run with Cam, LTs, with NOWEEDS full open all the time, it is unbelievable how beautiful it is IMO. When I close the diverters late at night or early in the morning and hear it, it sounds like a mouse compared to with them open.

Loud does not equal good. Open exhaust sounds like broken exhaust. I have stood talking with other guys at car shows when a guy rolls in with open exhaust, and my reaction and theirs is an eye-roll. A good-sounding powerful car should have a deep, but controlled racy sound. Brash is just awful.
Of course opinions vary, but I know many car guys that make fun of open exhaust cars. Young guys seem to dig it, but to most others, it sounds like a broken truck. I prefer the old-skool "hot-rod" sound, and was told time and again how mine sounded like a true retro car:

I disagree completely. An exhaust leak sounds like a broken exhaust. An open exhaust sounds like heaven.... especially if it's cammed.
