Sangyup Lee, a Korean native who hadn't even heard of a Camaro until he was 20 years old.

The Korean, Sanyup Lee, never experienced any contact with a Camaro until 20 years of age. Raised in Korea, he developed the Camaro based on strong inspiration from the first generation model, aviation engineering, and previous designs. It is worth noting that Lee's version was not the original but rather the best interpretation of a new Camaro. Before he put his pen to paper, GM designers had already decided that the Camaro should be inspired by the first generation rather than any other, although there was a long debate over the second generation because it lasted longer and had more followers. Before Lee's rendering, previous drawings had a similar appeal, but none of those designs were quite as attainable as Lee's concept. His design was given approval by GM superiors, and they kept their word to make the real thing as true to the concept in the end.

I think we'll stick with countries that don't routinely threaten to nuke American allies. Buying from North Korea is as American as Sputnik.

It is important to note, that Sangyup Lee's concept design actually more resembles the current SS design (look at the front fascia) than the earlier concept car..

Interesting....the Camaro was designed by a Korean and the Challenger was designed by someone who drives a 1970 Camaro to work every day...
