G5CR Cold Air Intake Installed

Had my CAI installed yesterday and will say that it definitely makes the LS3 breath much better. No dyno but the seat of the pants test says it has considerable more pull at the bottom end of the throttle. This is definitely a diy for most people, but I had Master Preformance in Brampton installed it for me. They will be installing my Stainless Works exhaust system for me when it arrives and I had the car in for them to take a look at what was involved, of course they wanted to check the rest of the car out as well. When I opened the trunk the CAI was sitting there in the box and they offered to install it for me. For $40, how could I say no? The CAI itself was around $400 CAD on my door step.

UPDATE: G5CR now has a heat shield available. I installed it the other day, not sure it will make that much difference. I now have 3 of 3 Scott.Name: CAI Enlarged.jpg

Looks great,I got the HENNESSEY CAI,can't wait to get my car to put it on,along with the CORSA Cat-back exhaust that is also sitting in my garage, like my wife keeps telling me everytime I order something for the Camaro"I think it would look better on the Camaro then in the box" ( I love her dearly, but sometimes she can be so damn hurtful) HA HA. I hope to be in it by the end of this month, if so I might cruise on up your way, you know to put on some K'S, maybe some of the members could hook-up for a cruise before the snow falls??? keep in touch.

Looks pretty clean. Is that pipe red or orange? Don't want to clash now
No box around that filter? Flow better yes. "Cold" air intake - not so much. 1 out of 2 ain't bad. And the price is pretty good too!

Looks nice. But where did you get the color coordinated engine covers? Mine were ordered with the car and I have been waiting 12 weeks and no RJT covers yet.

Ya, I was a little disappointed in the color, it is suppose to match (IOM) but it is off just a little bit. I don't think there is any metallic in it so it seems a shade lighter than the engine covers.

Actually Steve my scenario was just the opposite of pretty much everyone else. My ground effects, engine cover and car cover all arrived at the dealership WAY before my car. Car was built the week of April 6th and the LPO stuff arrived at the Dealership on April 15th, my car however didn't arrive until June 16th. So this was all back before the shortage in supply happened.

I didnt know that you .ived in Brampton....I live right on Torbram and Countryside.
Someone at my dealer just got a IOM 2SS with IO interior, black stripes and GFX. But it was not painted and the stripes are the dealer flat black so yours is still one of a kind.
Apparently theres a guy who looks like an older me driving an IOM Camaro with b;ack or Grey stripes. P.S hes got spikey hair too
Your going to feel some more power when you install that stainless works exhaust oné Thats going to sound BAD@SS
I still got to hear Scotts exhausts diverters too

G5CR, Hennessey, LMR. Is it basically personal preference as to which is better? Different sites say different rwhp increases. I am to take delivery of my Orange 2ss 6spd in a few weeks and am chomping at the bit to do CAI and exhaust. Please advise

LMR CAI - BUYER BEWARE

No judgement on how the unit performs, just the people behind it!

8/12/09 - Called to order unit, think I spoke with Joe. Upgraded to the carbon fibre, because I wanted to paint it. $50 more, but they shipped it for free. Oops, they said DON'T tell anyone! I asked if it would ship the next day. Was told they would email me the tracking info.

8/13/09 - Called to get tracking info. Was told about 20 units had gone out, was pretty sure one was mine and they would call me back with tracking.

8/14/09 - No info. Oh well, it was Friday and the weekend lay ahead.

8/18/09 - Big box was waiting for me Tuesday on the front porch when I came home from work. Opened it like a kid at Christmas! Took out the box with the filter, the intake tube, instruction sheet, hoseclamps, and then the plastic dam/box. To my dissapointment the plastic mounting tab on the dam/box was broken off. There was not even one piece of wadded up newspaper in the box to keep everything from bouncing around in that big box! Put everything back in the box.

8/19/09 - Called and I think talked to Joe again and then was handed off to someone else in marketing, can't remember his name. Explained everything to him, he was very apologetic and understood my frustration with their lack of follow-up. Tried his best to get me to keep it and send replacement box, but I have a choice on who I do business with and decided to return for credit.

8/24/09 - Finally received UPS return label Monday to ship back and did so that very day.

8/27/09 - They received the unit back Thursday.

9/19/09 - Over three weeks later I had to file a dispute with the credit card company to get a credit. I am sure they will say I should have called and they would have taken care of if, but that is my very point. Regardless of how the unit performs, their customer service is terrible!

This may not be the norm, but it was my experience and I would never buy from them again.

Let me get this straight, they sent you an upgrade for free.
you received it but it was broken. So they offer to send you a replacement.

That's terrible customer service?
looks like they did a whole lot to try to keep you happy.
