V6 Owners with GM Strut Tower Brace

Just trying to see if anyone is running into a similar situation as me. I bought a strut tower brace off another forum member, but when I went to install it on my V6 only 5 of the pre-drilled holes lined up. When I took it to the dealer they said they see it often and they usually need to enlarge the hole on the strut tower brace.

How many V6 owners who installed their own strut tower braces had to modify the holes on the brace itself for it to fit or was it truly bolt on for you guys?

Thanks for the input guys. I'm going to fight for it under warranty then. They originally wanted to charge me to enlarge the holes on the brace itself.

I have heard there are 2 different strut tower brace part numbers, never did get a clear answer on difference.

I had no problem mounting mine up on my 13 LS, or my 14 RS. What bolts are you using?

The ones that came with the brace, it was bought from a member here who had no issues getting it bolted on.

Try threading in all the bolts by hand and then lifting the car to install the last bolt. Perhaps by making the car flex a bit, you can get them to line up.

Best regards,

Pardon my ignorance, but is that good for the car? If the car sitting on a level surface isn't flexed like that wouldn't installing the brace like that either warp the brace/weaken it or force the chassis to remain in a flexed position?

I'm thinking the holes were just drilled improperly at the factory or the strut towers are positioned incorrectly.

I'm sorry to say this but, is it at all possible, that the car was in an accident, causing it to be off a little?
