0% financing April 2015

My local dealership is running some Camaro with 0% financing 60 month, including a '15 1le. Maybe some other dealerships are too? Look around.

I believe that's the national incentive at the moment.

Wow, 7 years is long time to make payments. I know (some) Camaro owners are different and keep their cars longer, but still, I could never do that. My payments started in March and I wanted to do a 3 year loan. I ended up doing 4 years but may pay it off early. I hate car payments.

Who cares how long? At 0% it's not costing you anything.

Yes but it depreciates anyway. At least you're not paying interest on it. The terms can be lowered from 84 months, that's just the max offered at the 0%. [even if not you can pay off early, which is allowed in 99.99% of loans nowadays] It's a great deal, and if someone WERE to want a keeper for a long time, then this is perfect. It's win win win no matter how you look at it.

The trade-off is you're paying closer to full sticker, only negotiating that can happen is whatever you can get the dealer to knock off. If someone's going in with little money down and wants to keep their monthly payments low this is a perfect deal. That interest compounds over time, enough such that the $500-2500 you might have gotten back with normal incentives will be less than the savings at 0% over the course of the loan.

My point was that you are still making a payment every month. I would rather have my car paid off sooner than later.

I got my 2015 SS/RS for Dealer Invoice at 0% for 84 Months. I will only be driving the car for 6 months a year and dont plan on putting more than 5000 KM (Canada) on it per year. That means when the car is paid off, it will have very little K's. I plan on keeping this car for a minimum of 10 years. So it was a good deal for me but maybe not for someone else. To each is own.

But at 0% you can make additional payments to pay it off early, at no cost to you. Or would you rather pay 1.9% so you can pay it off at 4 years on paper?

You must be new to financing. At 0% you are pay ZERO interest which is why that 0 is before the percentage symbol. 84 months of 0% interest means you have 84 months to pay off the car without interest. Since you hate financing and car payments go ahead and pay off the car whenever you want.

Talk to your dad about how the financing of your Camaro works because it will help you later in life.

What are you, like 8 years old? I know how financing works.

And my dad died in 1983, so GFY. Asshole.
