Sway Bar ???

How would a ZL1 front sway bar 25mm co-exist with a 1LE rear. There's only 2mm difference between the ZL1 and 1LE (the 1LE being 27mm)is there that much of a difference in how the work

That would be a good setup for a square setup, but for a staggered setup, you'd want to go softer in the front or stiffer in the rear. My preference would be stiffer in the rear as long as you have some good sticky rubber.

Best regards,

What bars do you have on the car now?

A 1LE 28mm rear bar would be a nice addition and bring more balance. I suggest 1LE owners switch to the SS front bar for the same reason.

I'd start with the rear bar only. With FE4 + 1LE stabilizer bars I can't get the rear to break lose before the front with stock SS tires at the track. Getting on the power early just exaggerates the understeer. The car corners flat and safe however. I like it, but the standard FE4 or ZL1 front bar would probably allow for just a bit more bite around the tighter turns.

I have the 1LE rear bar with my 2010 SS front bar, the car handles much better!

One downside however is during autocross this weekend there was a bit of a turn while applying almost full throttle I had issues with traction because the inside rear tire was being pulled up by the sway bar.

It wasn't severe and didn't seem to hurt too much but it did mean I had to keep the throttle a little feather to hopefully not smoke my clutch pack. I think the handling benefit is out-weighing the potential inside wheel spin.

I also have a square tire setup on 275s. It can still push a bit in really tight turns in autocross, but the understeer in wider faster corners is pretty much all gone. I managed to actually spin the car yesterday which was a first for me, but that was a driver issue, not because the car oversteers.

Here's a video of my best run of the day, snagged first in our clubs Novice by a full second using PAX times, not sure what other cars were registered, but plenty of other have better PAX than the Camaro.

So basically should just leave the front alone and concentrate on the rear sway bar wise, I'm really digging the JPSS front control arm bushings question is do the work for the radius arm also. Destructo09 are you running poly steering rack and sway bar bushings???????

All of my bushings are OEM rubber.

We could, but I need to spend about 600 bucks on brake pads next, lol.

I over-drove my HP+ pads at VIR North this month, Full course in September and it's much more hard on brakes.

I'm pretty happy with the sway bar and square setup for now, I think my next purchases will be better tires/wheels so I can get rid of these HEAVY 20" wheels/tires and better brake pads.

I kinda like the forgiveness of the rubber bushings for now since i'm in the learning process. Once I get my skills better or my rubber bushings give up i'll look at going to poly. I just see lots of people with worn out poly bushings but my OEM rubber ones are still going strong, although maybe more squishy.

I actually have never experienced wheel hop in my car other than in the rain, but I don't drag race either, so my motivation to swap bushings right now isn't very high.

I do have to thank you for advice on the 1LE rear bar, that has really made a difference in the car, I was a bit concerned about putting that much bigger of a rear bar in along with the new FE4 geometry and was a bit nervous seeing as my first time out was at a HPDE and not autocross lol.

Should 1LE owners change the rear sway bar to 32mm or should they change the front to a regular SS sway bar??
