Electrical problem - Possessed 2SS
An intermittent problem developed after a remove/repair of the engine last year. Difficulty starting followed by "Service Stabilitrack" and the tach not working. After a cool down it would go away for a couple months. Just replaced roller rockers and was running fine for about 40 miles. Then the demon set in. Codes as follows:
-V2100 ABS CAN BUS COMMUNICATION -ABS CONTROL MODULE POWER CIRCUIT -P0300 ENGINE RANDOM MULITPLE MISFIRE -P0324 ENGINE KNOCK CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION -P0336 ENGINE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT RANGE PERFORMANCE -P0307 MOD CYLINDER 7 MISFIRE Tire pressure light, stabilitrac light, traction control light, came on and off intermittently.Engine light came on, sometimes blinking, sometimes steady. Oil pressure and voltage are fine. I did find out that if I drive exactly 36mph, the speedo needle covers the check engine light so I don't have to look at it. |

I've had similar issues twice..
The first time it was a speed sensor. (lights only, lost ABS, stabilitrak, power steering, and traction control) Second time it was the ground wire for the coil packs. (lost all of the above and caused a misfire) Problem with the CANBUS system on these cars is they are all interconnected, one sensor, one ground wire, one almost anything along the system and everything lights up like a Christmas tree.

Update:
I'm in the process if finding out what isn't the problem. I cleared the codes and the only code that has reoccurred is P0307 (cylinder 7 misfire). I very recently replaced the roller bearings on the rockers. Pulled left valve cover, All on the left bank are in place and torqued right. Switched coil packs between 1 and 7. Cleared codes. P0307 reoccurred. Tomorrow, spark plugs and compression check. "Service Stabilitrack" and associated lights are still intermittently on. |

Update:
Found it. 180+ psi on 1,3,&5. Zero on #7. On closer inspection, broken valve spring on #7 exhaust valve. |
