Hello All,
After seeing some results from ADM's LSA kit I have grown more and more interested. I am looking to source my own blower and install the kit myself. From doing some research I can tell I will need 85# injectors, ADM FPCM, and the ZL1 Fuel pump. Are there any other special tools or parts I will need to order before hand to make for a smooth install? Also what should I be looking for in a used blower aesthetically and mechanically. Sorry for all the questions, I just wanna do as much as I can myself and do it correctly! Thanks!! |

Check out the lsa website and hammdo linked the whole step by step build on his car. It is very detailed and takes awhile to read through. But it is as detailed as it gets.
As for a blower. Make sure rotirs are not scored up and rotates smoothly. Isolator is a must for an upgrade. Adm sells them also. |

My shop is coming down the home stretch installing an ADM LSA conversion (2014 Camaro SS L99 Auto, SS Power long tube headers, Cold Air Inductions intake).
Thanks Andy, the Kit is GREAT!!!! They said it will be done today !!!!. FYI, They did not have to remove the bumper from the car. They removed the radiator fans and the top mounting assemblies. Then they were able to tilt the car radiator rearward and install the SC radiator and the pump. The mounted the SC radiator with a thru tie kit and mounted the pump assembly in front of the sc radiator just under the hood latch. Very clean looking. Shop said the install took them about 4 hours longer (20 hrs before tuning) than a Magnuson install (he is a Magnuson dealer/installer). The extra time was slotting the coil brackets, soldering wires ( Magnuson supplies plugs), figuring out the cleanest SC coolant system/plumbing. FYI the SC assembly comes with 2 MAF sensors, you will use only the red one on the back of the SC if you are doing an LS3 or L99 conversion. Jannetty racing is doing an e mail tune and I am going with a booster pump since at WOT I was running out of fuel. Your move to the ZL1 fuel pump up front sounds like a smart decision. Beware the if using an SCT tuner, the new S4 tuner software has alot of bugs. We wasted alot of time resolving them. SCT tech support is backed up 1 to 2 hours due to these issues. Be sure to check for updates to the x4 AND the data logging software before starting. Bug 1, for most laptops when you open the tuner software on your laptop, the window is truncated and you cannot see most of the buttons. Resolve by going into the windows start menu at the lower left and type in dpi in the search box, select make text smaller or larger , select smaller 100% and that will allow you to see all the buttons a and functions. Another bug we found is you cannot have the x4 tuner software up the same time you have the data logging software up. It prevents you from seeing the functions and logging data. As far as Cats, Jannetty recommends Dynatechs. My shop recommended Pypes HF Cats and have had many Magnuson SC installs with great luck. Pypes is local to us so we went with them. The factory washer bottle really restricts air to the CAI so I had them replace it with a Rotofab washer bottle relocate that uses the factory pump. The rotofab fits perfect right in front of the SC coolant reservoir and behind the Cold Air Inductions CAI with no issues. I'll post some pics after I get the car back with a dyno report. Also I am going with the ZL1 looking TL1 hoodscoop from Advance Composites. It fits with no modifications !!!! GOOD LUCK. |

You can do it. I was on the fence but the more I searched the forum and web the more I realized how easy this can be done. You will have questions for sure but this forum has a great member support reputation and don't hesitate to use it. I am coming to the end of my build and currently working on the remote tune with Jannetty utilizing a wide band sensor. Have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! |

My conversion is finally done ! It dynoed at 473 RWHP and 484 ft lbs torque. Not bad for an L99 conversion with stock cam. Probably ~ 580 hp at the flywheel for an automatic. It runs great and the e mail tune from Ted Jannetty worked out great. It is a little cranky at start up but smooths out after 15 seconds or so.
I have a convertible so the voltage booster for the fuel pump (Lingenfelter) was not plug and play. They had to remove the rear seat and splice into fuel pump wires. Also to get the stock LSA engine cover to fit, I had to remove the black front ambient MAP sensor and plug the bolt hole. The sensor is not used anyway in an L99 conversion set up. I am very happy with the conversion. I am running 9 lbs of boost at WOT. With the Pypes HF cats and the Solo exhaust it sounds like a full race drag car at full WOT but at cruise the solo J pipes make it sound like a stock v6. I went the full ZL1 route with a TL1 hood scoop and badges. Love it. |

Congrats getting it running! Great numbers on a stock L99. I too love the ZL1 look. Need some videos!

So the kit comes with the isolater and pinning kit currently? And are the 85# injectors a must? I though I read somewhere that the kit comes with lsa injectors, and I'm not all too sure if they'll suffice in this application. Boost is new to me and I want to get it right the first time. I plan on piecing together all the parts for an end of summer, early fall install. Probably won't be able to wait that long though lol.

If you plan on turning up the boost with a 2.5 pulley i would invest in the larger injectors with the zl1 pump and fpcm.

ADM kit inclusions & install tip
Quote:
I bought the complete kit with the new LSA blower and it came with the crank pinning kit and LSA fuel rails/injectors (53 lbs@60 PSI) . Install shop loved how easy the kit made the crank pinning operation. Rather than going with the ZL1 fuel pump and the ugly install on a convertible, I went with Lingenfelter voltage boost kit to the stock fuel pump. At WOT I am running 17 volts which is ok for stock fuel pump longevity at my conservative tune of 473 hp. If you are going for higher horse power, I think the ZL1 pump is the way to go. With the stock L99 crank pulley (7.53") and stock LSA blower pulley (2.95") I am getting 9 lbs of boost at WOT. Ted Jannetty did a great job with the e mail tune. We went back and forth with data 6 times until it was just right. If you are using SCT x4 tuner, see my post above on the software glitches. It will save you hours of frustration. Good luck on your build ! Believe me it is worth all the work and time you put in once you feel the blower kick in !!!

Amen to that! It is THE best kit in my opinion for the money - and GM availability for parts is hard to beat. Nothing against the other kits, I personally prefer a factory finish...
Keep us posted! -Don

Thanks for the info. I have an X4 with a JRE tune now, so it'll be convenient for a good start up tune going to him again.
