So I weighed my car............

It's a fat bastard!! I knew it was heavier than my Mustang, but damn it! I didn't think it would be pushing 400lbs heavier. Mustang with me and full tank was 3680lbs. This thing is 4040lbs!! Holy crap!! Talk about a lead sled........ LOL! Besides ditching the heavy ass OEM 20's for either lighter weight 20's or 18's, what else can I do to drop weight without loosing comfort? On a side note, I'm very surprised this thing is as fast as it is considering it's weight.........

Why does the raw weight bother you?

I agree, car is too heavy. But what's the problem in practical terms? You're afraid of being too heavy for some bridges?

If performance is your angle, you are on the right track, because power to weight is the game...almost all of it that is.

Torque multipliers play their part as well. Get the 3.91:1 rear gear. The performance will increase and the car will 'feel' lighter. Power to weight is a great mindset to have but don't ignore the other things that play a role. You will have immediate gains with the higher numerical gear gear ratio.

Yeah I'm very heavily thinking about those 3.91 gears. But on our top 10 list, I'm not really seeing a huge benefit from those gears compared to cars that don't have them. Anyone else have any input on gears for these things?

The stickers on the door is the GVWR or the amount of weight the car can tote safely. That is not the curb weight. The only way to get that is to scale it. I used a local CAT scale.

Weight of this car doesn't bother me one bit, car feels solid and handles great. I threw some extra weight in the car and driving around, I couldn't tell a difference!

I have the 3.91 gears in car. They really help getting the car moving. And Six gear is now a more useable gear as well.

I wonder why all of the 1LE cars aren't as quick mod for mod vs the regular Camaro's with 3.45 gears?

Lmfao!! I only weigh 175-180. I'm not a big guy, not even that tall really at 6ft. You guys know what 18" wheels will fit on our cars with these massive rotors?

The gearing is set up for road course.

The trans in the 1LE is geared differently with the idea of staying in 2nd and 3rd longer for a road course to minimize shifting. So the 3.91 is to keep the acceleration similar to a standard SS with 3.45.

I would guess for us 1LE guys to have similar effects we would need 4.10 or better. Then again the car is set up for a different purpose.

I like straight line acceleration but just with a turn before and after it...
