Angry new to camaro5.com

I have a quick question? I purchased my new 2014 camaro 2lt rs 10 months ago. Today I was driving and a rock cracked my windshield by the driver side. Is this covered by warranty since the car is not even a year old.

Don't believe, some insurances cover that though.

Only if it's under 36,000 miles, tip to tip warranty covers that

No harm in trying. If it's not covered by warranty try insurance.

Have never heard of a mfg(any mfg) covering a windshield for a rock smacking it. But as mentioned glass coverage is on some insurance policies.

Most insurance companies will complimentarily replace a windshield once. Check with yours to see their policy. Just make sure if they do and you have a HUD that they replace with a OEM windshield, otherwise you won't be able to see it properly.

Also, how bad is the crack? You might be able to just get it fixed and filled if it's not too bad.

Like someone said, some insurance might do it once free. My State Farm policy would cover it once, but so does does my bumper to bumper "total protection" plan I bought ;-) Good luck, Get er' fixed brotha!

The vehicle's warranty will not cover it.

Your insurance company will cover it, if you have specific coverage in the policy for it. You'll need to ask your insurance company.

If not, the glass costs about $400 more or less plus labor to install.

If it's HUD i'm not sure fixing the crack on the drivers side will work entirely atleast not for the HUD display might be a little distorted. I'd see about bumper to bumper on it if your dealership cares they'll help you out if not it's covered under comprehensive insurance if you have it. The rock was a moving object you really had no way of avoiding it so even if they don't do a one time free replace you won't be paying a ridiculous deductible for OEM pieces.

The crack is like 1 inch big but it's in the driver side on the edge. I know it's not that big but eventually with the heat and cold it might expand. I was told it wasn't repairable due to the crack being to close to the edge.

Also if I have a hud would the price be the same or is it more expensive. I'm going to check with the dealer cross my fingers they get it replaced. If not worst case I would have to go threw my insurance.

Warranty will not cover the windshield, Call your insurance company. I had to have mine replaced about 4 months after I got my car. They will not raise your rates. And tell them you want a factory windshield, not an aftermarket one.
