for those who's done the LS3 conversion-vvt cam signal

Hello friends,
Can you please share some information about ls3 conversion details.
I am interested in all the details on what to do with intake cam position actuator solenoid wiring after conversion from l99?
Well, wiring itself is not a big deal: what to do with ECU which is looking for vvt cam solenoid signal? Do I need a tune or I can just pull some fuse or whatever?

Really need advice..

TKS!

thank you man!
and once it is disabled, no trouble cods shall be stored/diagnosed?
I am asking because I have P0010 whilst camshaft vvt actuator doesn't exist

Yeah AFAIK you should be golden. If the pcm is told not to look for it, then it won't ever "see" it.

I did a VVT to LS3 swap 2 years ago, and they just tape the VVT solenoid wire back (some cut it which is shade tree IMHO) and turn VVT off in the tune file.

Hi People! O happy i got your feedback.
In my case, whoever has done the L99-LS3 swap (conversion) just typed the wiring back but did nothing in regards with tune file..looks like my ECU is still looking for VVT (P0010 permanent error).
Now I am in trouble what to do with my ECU..

may I have some info on what tool is to be used to disable it?
it's not possible to disable it with Trinity (DiabloSport) which I have..bad for me.

how about STC or other tools you have on hand experience with?

YOu will hae to get with someone that has hp tuners in your area. Or I think a good GM tech could shut it off for you with a tech 2.

2010 Camaro 2SS/RS with a K&N cold air Stainless Power headers, Magnaflow cat-back, staggered TSW Nurburgring's just a great daily driver.

Well guys, my story goes on.

I got an SCT SF3 tuner but.. it rejects my ECU saying "ECU unsupported".
I am pretty sure that's because my ECU was recently flashed at the dealership.
I have info that I will not be able to load any canned tunes on the vehicle but still ok to load custom tune from Tuning shops.

Do you know if I am still fine to use custom tune? Anyone has run into the same situation?

Thanks!

the dealer reflash your ecm after the LS3 conversion? Who did the tune after the ls3 conversion? You need to take it back to them to be retuned. The dealer should NOT have reflashed your car. You now have the stock l99 tune in your car. dont drive it. have it flat bedded to a tuner to get it retuned.

I have done a custom tune, thank you all.
VVT part has been turned off in the tune,
However that error code still burning my mind.
What is strange that neither SCT nor Trinity detects that code. Nevertheless when I took my car to a few random shops such as Auto-zone, O'Reilly - they detected that code.

Now I really frustrated. My tuner is working on the solution as well but I am worried about all this bs.

dont let the dealer reprogram it again. dont worry about the scanner not knowing what it was. what solution is he working on? What kind of custom tune did you do? data log or dyno?
