Is the 1le lower compared to the regular SS?

When I bought my 1le I parked my old 2011 2ss next to the 1le.

My SS is lowered 1.25" And to my surprise they were the same height.

But the 1le still has a big gap between the fender and the tire.

I was planning on putting on coilovers to get rid of that gap.

But if I lower the 1le 1.25" is that the same as if I had lowered my old SS 2.5"?

That's going to make the car way to low.

Does anyone here have a lowered 1le? How's the ride?

A lot of guys have lowered 1"-1.25", haven't been many complaints of it being to low...

Contact the guys at Apex and they will hook you up. I used the Pfadt Race Engineering Drop Springs that they sell and love it. Ride is stiffer but lets face it we did not buy our 1LE for the ride we bought it because it is cool! There was a guy on here that found a set somewhere that was crazy cheap but I can not find the thread, they were like under $150 foe a set of 4! sounded to good to be true but he seemed to like them. Search the threads there are a lot out there discussing the same things. Our cars are just begging to be lowered.

The GM catalog specifies the exact same part number on the spring for the 1LE SS and the regular SS.

The reason the 1LE is lower is because of the shorter diameter tires. 285/35/20 is shorter than 275/40/20. This would lead to a lower ride height, and make it look like slightly more fender gap.

The tires may make it look higher than it really is
