Getting ready to pick up the new ZL1 tomorrow
Well, I am getting my stuff together to pick up the new ZL1 tomorrow and trade in my '13 Corvette Grand Sport. I have to say, I am pretty uptight. Getting rid of my Corvette is freaking hard, I have had two Vette's, an '04 and the current '13, over the last 11 years. And the ownership experience has been fantastic, no complaints whatsoever, just great, reliable, hugely fun cars to drive.
So, why am I getting a ZL1? I want to own a great muscle car after the muscular sports cars I have owned. And, I will now have more room for my daughter and a friend if she so desires. But still, there is nothing like a Vette, the ownership experience is singular. To my mind, the ultimate cool American car. But, I really do want to own this Z and I have been obsessing about it prior to and during the ordering process. OK, my purge is over, hopefully I won't freak out tomorrow. Thanks, Ken |

You'll be fine. Since they still produce Corvettes, you can always go back to a sports car If the muscle car isn't your cup of tea.
And I'd also like to hear you compare and contrast tge two cars.

I understand your feelings. I went from a C7 to my ZL1.
I love my Z. But I miss that Vette too. Both are awesome, special cars. You will love the ZL1! Guaranteed.

I had a 2010 Grand Sport Jetstream Blue Metallic. I miss that car daily as I also share the opinion that it is one of the ultimate cool American sports cars. That said, however, I love the ZL1 equally and it is hard to compare because they are very different cars but when you see the capabilities stock vs. stock the ZL1 will amaze you. Good luck and don't look back because at the end of the day you will be among the lucky few who have been able to own both.

I'm in the same boat... trading my 2012 GS CE. Such a sexy, sexy car. I'm really going to miss it. Going to the dealer tomorrow to turn it over and do the paperwork before the incentives expire at the end of the month... ZL1 was supposed to arrive Tuesday, the 26th, but still hasn't arrived.

Balasarius it would be very hard for me to get rid of that centinnial edition grand sport. That car is awesome. I love my zl1 but I don't know if I could do that trade or not. Ive actually been thinking about trading my zl1 for a grand sport. Always wanted a vette but every time I think about getting rid of the zl1 I chicken out. Lol

Cool! You'll love it. I've always been a Camaro Guy. I've owned 14 over the years......yes, I have issues.
One of the biggest perks is that my kids can ride in the car with me. It would be tough for me to ever go to a Vette because of that! Congrats and I hope you enjoy it!
