stupid hail
So after 2 weeks of driving my car with hail damage, I get to take it in to the body shop so they can fix it tomorrow. Hood (which will be replaced), roof, trunk lid, and a ding on every other section of the body it seems. PDR on most of it (supposed to go through the headliner to get to the roof dents). $5,000 worth of hail damage (luckily no windows were harmed). I'll probably wind up with a Kia Rio or somesuch while the Camaro is in the shop, however, it will only be 10 days until I get it back.
I had thought about getting an aftermarket hood, but couldn't find anything I like so I am sticking with OEM. |

Did your insurance try to fight you on it so they wouldn't have to pay for the damages? Typical insurance tactics if they did.

Nope, no fighting with them at all. Took it straight to my agent (we have had this agent for 15+years), filled out the paperwork, took it to the bodyshop, they did the estimate and setup the appointment. All told, maybe 2 hours worth of my time and 1.5 hours of that was them going over the car with their "special" (I assume a blacklight) light.

Wow, amazing. I guess in certain instances, albeit rare instances, insurance companies actually do what you pay them to do.

PDR can do some amazing things in repairing hail damage. Our 2014 Malibu had similar damage (it also has an aluminum hood) and they repaired it in three days. Flawless repair!

10 days is a long time in a Kia Rio...

When I lived in Ohio hail storms rolled through all the time. I worked for a shop that had a PDR team. I was amazed by the repairs they could do, that's when I bought some Dent Tools. They come in handy from time to time. Good luck! I hope it turns out nicely!

what insurance do you have? i have never had any issues. i had my truck repaired last winter. i brought it to a shop and never needed an adjuster to even look at it before the work was done. i just paid the shop my deductible and they took care of the rest.
