Heated seat switches

I’ve got a strange one, had my car for a week now and I’m loving it. But on the way home after dinner the other night the wife asked how to turn on the heated seats. I told her I wasn’t sure so after we got home I looked in the manual and compared it to the car and sure enough the switch buttons weren’t there! It’s a 2SS and they come standard and I looked on the window sticker and it’s called out on there. So I took it to the dealer and said it appears as though my car has a birth defect! There reaction was “well that’s weirder then S#$%”. Now I have to take it back so they can verify exactly what all is missing and then figure out what to do next. I’m sure this is a one off problem but I thought I would put it out there to see if anybody else has seen this.

That's pretty bizarre. I hope its just the switches missing and it will be a quick and easy fix. At least you aren't missing anything that will take the car out of commission for an extended period of time.

No, they just want to look and see what to order. One can only guess at how long it will take to order a new panel.

Whats there in place of the heated seat buttons? Is it just blank, your looking between the temp control knobs on each side right? And i'm not trying to sound rude or imply your an idiot.

They are in the center of either control dials..

So somebody missed the plug harness for the seats AND failed to put the proper control panel on?

Hmmm...

That's insane. That seems to be a huge oversight IMO. Hope they get that fixed fast for you!

I work with a guy who bought a 2006 Toyota sequoia and they forgot to put in his four wheel drive switch. He brought it back to the dealer and they gave him a hard time saying it wasn't a four wheel drive. It has the transfer case and front differential. They finally agreed and they had to put in a new dash with the switch. Pretty funny...

Sounds like they thru in a 1SS panel instead of the 2SS one. I just hope the seats them selves are the 2SS seats with the heating elements in them. Is there a way to tell if this is the case or not?

I asume you have the correct stearing wheel with the extra controls on it? This is the other addition with the 2SS. Maybe you actually have a 1SS car.
