Which lowering kit best bang for buck?
I am looking for lowering springs for my 2010 2LT RS. I don't do any racing, just have fun driving on the local twisty roads.
There are a lot of different brands and I was just curious what people liked the most. I read good things about most of them, but I don't really know what the differences are. I haven't seen many bad reviews for any of them. I remember reading that dropping much lower than 1 or 1.25 inches was hard on the suspension. I was leaning towards the BMR 1.2 inch drop springs, because it says they were designed specifically for the V6 and I have read a lot of good reviews on BMR. Not sure how much that really matters, though. Also they are on the cheaper side, so are they just a good value or is it worth it to pay more for another brand? Also, where is the best place to buy them? If I go with the BMR, I noticed that JDP has them cheaper than phastek. Any place cheaper? I am on a tight budget, so every little dollar counts. Any info or opinion is appreciated. |

BMR is a good brand- not cheap, well made and a good value.
You want a spring specific to the V6- Chevy did some funny changes with the length of the dampers on 2010-11-12 V6's and there were some issues with springs coming unseated when fully extended causing problems. JDP Motorsports is thoroughly familiar with these cars and are the perfect place to acquire the best lowering springs that won't cause you any headaches in the future. |

We use MAP Pricing, so the Price should be the same whether you buy the Springs from one of our Distributors or directly from us

Motorsports coils are traditionally cold wound high silicon content smaller diameter wire. This works extremely well for 2.5" diameter coilover style springs. OEM coils are almost exclusively hit wound coils. They are slightly thicker in diameter and last longer with the large open winds found in OE coils. |

If you are on a tight budget, Eibach is a good option. Some guys reported that they got 1.2" drop with this kit.

I went Eibach on my first Camaro and the rears kept coming out of perch. It was a pain in the butt! I got Eibach to reimburse me on them after a year and I went with Pedder's and I was very happy with them. When I got my current Camaro, I couldn't get Pedder's to save my soul which is what I wanted. Because of that situation with Pedder's USA I had to go with something that would get me where I need to be and my shop here went with Detroit Speed Engineering and I have to say I'm happy with them. Did the complete 1LE/ZL1 conversion, springs and sways and the car is smooth as hell, tight and rides like it's on rails, and I have the perfect stance with a 1" drop on all four corners. Pricewise, it's the same as Pedder's.
