Input/Opinion wanted on clutch problem
Hi guys, I've been beating on my car pretty regularly and it still has the factory clutch in it. Last night the clutch went to the floor on the 1-2 shift and didn't return until I kicked it a few times.
After it came back up, it seems like the clutch is making a lot of noise (chatter while engaged that stops immediately on disengage). I know a lot of us have fought this battle before, but what was your winning move? Better clutch? Upgrade the slave? Return spring? It is engaging normally today under light throttle, and did drive back home last night. It just seems to be making more noise (could be my imagination/worry talking there though).

Well my win was the LPE return spring. But that's really a Band-Aid solution for the real problem. Upgrade the slave and while your at it, upgrade to a billet throw out bearing.

If your cammed/sprayed and beat on it your stock clutch will not hold up very long. Only real fix is a new aftermarket clutch. And while your in there might as well do a tick speed bleeder and a separate clutch fluid reservoir.

How hard is it to replace the plastic bearing support with the Monster Billet support?
