Exhaust Popping During Decel

My LS3 cracks and pops during decel- i didnt like it with the stock exhaust- now with an MBRP catback its real bad. I know some guys like this sound but i dont, even find myself dumping the clutch at a red light so it doesnt do it.
Anyone have any info or suggestions on how to make it stop? I know if i ask my dealer they will tell me its because of the catback.

I thinks it's a back pressure, the more back presure the less it will make the noise, but a free flowing exhaust will have less back pressure, so it's something we mut live with... I like the noise

Yea I don't like it either...from what I can tell it has to do with the exhaust gases igniting in the exhaust pipes. My best guess is the chambers in the stock mufflers provided a buffer to allow the expanding gases be dampened. With straight pipes, or MBRP, etc. there is nowhere for the expanding gases to go except out the tailpipe at full force.

That makes sense because after I put a Leo Vince full exhaust on my R6 and revved it, as the RPM's went back down it would pop and a flame about 6" long would shoot out of the exhaust... I later installed a power commander III and it stopped. :(

Now, I could handle the popping if I could get the Camaro to shoot flames...that would be sweet.

When you say "tuned" do you mean a hand held unit like a hypertech or predator, or garage or shop?

I think it could be either or. I have the popping with my combo (ARH system and stock axelback). I have heard it can be tuned out, but at the expense of a few MPG. It is bothersome, but not enought to worry about it.

Yeah, mine (stock) does it also and I think it's cool. However, today I get the Zoomers CAT back exhaust installed, so, we'll see what the drive home sounds like

Usually a high quality X-pipe solves this problem. I do not know what your MBRP cat-back system includes. Listen to the sound clip on the ADM install of Magnaflow 3inch system that includes the type of X-pipe I am referring to. The sound clip has no pops etc. in it at all during reving and driving. I had a similar problem, which I dislike, on my Vette and a quality x-pipe solved the problem years ago. Check it out.

It's a borderline backfirethat people walking down the street would duck! LOL it wasn't bad with the stock system, I liked it. But when you open up the stock exhaust it gets loud

My MBRP system does this too but it is not very loud. My stock exhaust had the same burble/pop and I feel it was MORE noticeable with the quieter exhaust. I personally kind of like it.
