Xtreme Racing Splash guards

Has anyone installed these yet?

If so I have a question as I ordered the plastic ones and they came with a "rough" side and a smooth side. I was wondering which side should face where.

I am leaning on the rough side that looks like bed lining inside towards the wheel as the smoother side looks closer to the texture of the splitter and other exterior parts.

Also the smooth side does not look as "perfect" as the rougher side.

I am really confused so any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Please see pictures for reference.

Unfortunately no and the instructions on their site do not specify which side faces where.

I would definitely go with the first picture. That rough side isn't appealing at all.

I got mine from RDP and is similar to yours (smooth and rough side). I just took a peek and I installed it with the second picture you have shown.

Rough side towards the wheel. If you install the smooth side towards the wheel, it will become rough in a few months with all of the crap hitting it.

That's what I was guessing.

Thank you all for the quick replies!

Is this a serious question?

Install the smooth side towards the tires. Or else dirt and mud will build up in the texture if mounted texture side towards the tires. I have the RPI version of these and put the smooth side towards the tires to match the fender liners.

Obviously this is a serious question.

Which as you can tell had yielded about 50% split on which way to mount them. So not sure why you think it's so crazy.

I would mount the textured side to the tire.

I have these and also got the ZL1 factory splash guards that can only be installed 1 way and that is rough side out. So the front went on that way too.

If it was me I would point the smooth side at the wheel. Seems it would be MUCH easier to clean all the mud and junk off that way. the Textured side would be hard to clean I'm guessing so i assume the smooth side points towards the wheel. but at the same time he is right, the smooth side will get ate up from rocks and road grit. tough choice but your call.
