Trading in 2015 2LS for 2015 SS
After doing much research and seeing SS in person, I really like the body kit on it and most importantly want the V8 jump. I haven't had my LS for two months yet. The V8 seems like enthusiast engine and I am an enthusiast. MPG isn't important to me as this isn't my daily driver. I drive an economy car for winter/fall and daily driving. I only drive Camaro for fun of it and not for daily commutes or grocery shopping, etc...
On top of that, I won the car, it's completely mine so nothing to pay off. How much would it cost me to trade it in for a SS model? My LS has 1,000 miles on it. I was thinking of interior/exterior mods(Audio system, spoiler, rims, etc...) for LS but figured if I will put money into that over next year might as well upgrade to ss which has everything necessary. Some will say wait for 2016 Camaro, I doubt I can get good trade in value with a 2016 ss and I'm not digging the new design too much exterior wise. With 2016 coming out maybe I could get a better deal for an SS. And I personally want to drive a 6 speed manual for first time of my life. |

You don't owe anything on the 2LS? You can probably get a good deal on a 2015 SS. I traded in a 2014 2LT and broke even on the trade. You should be in a much better shape if you don't owe anything. You will still probably take a loss on what you paid for the car as it's value has already dropped from the lot. But I would definitely recommend a SS. I am so happy I did.
I did agree with you on the 2016, but it has been growing on me. Though they will be hard to get at first and you probably won't get as good of a deal. So no reason not too. Though the 2016 has some nice feature. Great LT1, Push start, magnetic suspension and lighter. I will probably go Gen6 in 3 or 4 years and have fun with mine!

The thing about the 2016 is that as a brand new model there will likely be significant mark up at the dealers for a while. Also many people feel it unwise to buy the first year of a new model of car ('14 Vettes had all kinds of issues and in '15 a lot of the kinks still haven't been worked out). Similar to new electronic devices like iphones and whatnot theres usually always issues with a new release.
Buying a '15 would be the way to go in my opinion. Dealers are giving great deals on them as the need to get rid of them increases. It would be a wonderful upgrade over your LS. I promise you'll never want to go back.

If I can find a good trade in deal on a 2ss I would trade it in but my fear is about driving manual transmission for first time of my life. Also some people say 1LE costs around 2SS and is much better? I really like the 1LE exterior package, if it costs around a 2SS model it seems to be better option. For street driving is it okay to drive? I don't do any track racing. |

I don't care if you don't believe me. I never had sports cars on my agenda. I drive an economy car, however after I won this car I began researching on it. And realized the 1ss V8 is not far off from my model. And would be a good upgrade. Originally before I got the car I never thought about owning a sports car and wanted to lease a truck because we have harsh winters out here. Now it seems 2ss and 1LE get pretty pricey and personally I feel it's too difficult to drive manaul in city roads as I also have no experience. Apparently the 6 speed and auto have different engines. Anybody know if there is noticeable power difference? I don't care about having complete control for my car, I'm not driving a six speed in city traffic and with nutjob aggressive drivers on the street. The Manual LS3 has 26 more HP and 10 more torque than the L99 Auto. I love my L99 and a few bolt ons and a tune can help that out. I get plenty of get up and go for me in the L99 and with the Sport mode and paddle shifts gives you a little more control. The 1LE is a very nice performance package.
The L99 has AFM which will have the car switch to 4 cylinders to conserve fuel. You can tune that out if you want. I am looking to do that as I don't care for it kicking it at low speeds. I would get what you want and feel comfortable with. Don't worry about anything else.

Whoa... if I outright owned a 2015 LS, I'd definitely trade it in on a ZL1. Figure that car is probably worth $25K if you could find a ZL1 for $50K, you're only on the hook for $25K...... it'd be like buying a ZL1 for he price of an LS. I definitely wouldn't wait on he 2016. Your LS is worth more today than it will be in three months. Maybe not a lot more... but they haven't even announced a a new ZL1 or 1LE for that matter. Get a ZL1, heck, if you could find a used 2013~2014 ZL1, even better.

@sandman1969
I definitely will go with automatic. I have no experience with manual and mostly do city driving. @thundrkkyss Hehe, I'm not looking to spend that much at all. There are no ZL1's in my area. I'm currently checking to see my trade in value and looking for a summit white 1ss with rs package, I really like those halo headlights. So it it costs me 8-10K it could be a good deal. I don't care about creature comforts or leather or any interior upgrades. Purely for performance, nice exterior.
