Question New Camaro owner

Hello Everyone, I recently purchased my 2010 Camaro SS and Im looking to spend about 1k on mods. but to be honest im not handy with tools and don't know much about cars to take on any tasks with confidence. what would you recommend I do with that amount of money with my experience. I would be Interested in performance upgrades but want to make sure I don't have any trouble with California's strict emissions regulations. I would appreciate any help with this, thanks in advance.

Welcome!! Why no pictures?! And I would start with this cold air intake. VERY easy to do and the included instructions tell you all you need to know!

No cold air intakes are legal in california. Just change it out before smog.

Yeah, since you're in the lovely state of California, basically nothing is legal. Your best bet may be to get a cold air intake (can be easily swapped before an emissions test) and a tune (which also can be brought back to stock). Aside from that, get some aesthetic stuff and call it a day.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Nice to see someone else from Oside in here. We have weekly and monthly meets in Carlsbad and Mission Valley, also have the annual Borrego Springs Cruise coming up this weekend. Check out SD County Camaros on FB, guys post stuff on there for sale or check the classifieds here for great deals on parts. As for the cold air intake, just keep your stock on and swap it out when you go in for smog.

Since you would have to pull the CAI to pass Smog, Just put in a hi flow dry air filter and make sure you have a strong MAF. Cold Air intakes are nice but you really don't get much more performance.
