Best MPG on a full tank of gas for an SS?

I got 24.95 MPG on my road trip last week on one tank of gas. My average for the trip was a little over 22, but at one point the speed limits were lower and it really brought my average up for that tank! Mine is an SS manual with about 2000 miles at the time.

What are you guys getting at best?

23.9 from Phoenix to Albuquerque -- only about 200 miles on her when I made the trip. Followed up by a return trip from Albuquerque to Tucson where I again pulled 23.9

Aside from construction zones -- she was pegged on 80 on the cruise control! (SS/M6)

The really sad thing is that my Mazdaspeed 6 (now 4 years old with 56000 miles) my average is only 21.2 over the lifetime of the car. I had a low avg of 17.2 and a high of 27.1.
I only have half the number of cylinders as the LS3 and 150hp less.

I got 26.8 with my 1 SS on a trip from east of Syracuse to Rochester. All interstate driving. Usually get around 23 mpg around the country roads.

Really?! you guys actually care about MPG a "SS"? Wow... have we really run out of so many other things to talk about with these wonderful cars that we're comparing fuel efficiency? How about you guys take this "chat" over here http://priuschat.com/ It just seems silly to even bring this subject up...

MPG's are just as much a part of a car's cost as MSRP, dealers that overcharge (or offer good deals), insurance rates, and so forth. If you don't care about such mundane things I would suggest picking up an F430 or at least dropping the snooty attitude.

Wow some of you guys are getting some great numbers. Hope mine will continue to get a little better over time.

And yes, I care about MPG! I would have bought this car no matter what fuel economy it gets, but I'm not rich and it's a nice plus to get reasonable gas mileage.

A BIG +1 to that! I haven't taken my SS on a road trip yet, but when I do, I'll let you know what my mileage was on it.

Great fuel mileage folks! Just wondering what type of mileage we can look forward to after these engines get some miles on them and loosen up a bit. Its still amazing to me as Im "old school", that a engine thats capable of 426-400 horsepower can make this type of mileage. These are some truely world class performance cars!
