How to adjust handbrake
Title says it. I have to pull it sky high for my car to even stay. Do I have to remove the console to adjust the line? Also, do I have to remove the console to remove the spring in the handbrake? Or does the plastic boot pull off?

I adjusted mine when I had the rear rotors off. There is a ratcheting wheel back there that tightens the parking brake. Mine didn't hold the car at all. Now it holds pretty well.

it's not a fun process, involves taking the rear wheels, calipers, and rotors off, and adjusting the parking brake drum until it holds. Might i recommend raising the lever a few clicks (2 or 3) before making any adjustments

Aw seriously? All of that? In my old eclipse, all i had to do was take apart the console and tighten the line by adjusting a nut...

I want to adjust it tighter than stock for drifting purposes.. plus the spring removal. I found the line under my car, but its all blocked off by heat shields. Looking at the manual later.

Mine wasn't worn, but still needed adjusting. The nature of applying the parking brake every day will stretch the cable over time.
