Hey there my friend has a missfire in their 2011 camaro. Was wondering what all could cause this so I thought I would ask what all could be done to fix it to save Jim money.

had same issue, check plug wires one of mine was melted

I guess mice have crawled in his car. When he starts it up sounds like it has a hard time getting gas in there. Maybe chewed up wires or injectors?

Engines need, fuel, spark and air. If you have a misfire, then one or more of the three are missing. Without seeing the car, it's merely speculation as to the cause. Not to be a jerk, but this is not like saying my oil filter is loose and leaking what do I do.....So many things could cause this, and if your hard up enough to ask this in a public forum, its probably better left to a pro.

We know nothing of the car's history, like modifications or storage conditions.

But a couple of common causes of misfire have already been mentioned: wires damaged by melting (a common problem with aftermarket headers) and rodent damage (a common problem with winter storage).

If it's a V6 there are no plug wires just so you know.

Like others have said, a lot of things can go wrong. No spark could be caused by plugs, wires if you have them, coils, connections, the computer...

Injectors could be a problem, or not be getting proper signal

There could be internal engine damage for all we know.

If it hesitates to start when cranking over I'd assume a fuel pump is to blame, especially on a V8

We don't even know which engine it is, which of course, is somewhat important.

Its a v6. My friend got back to me and told me that they finally found the problem. Mice made a nest in the engine bay and chewed up the injector wires. I gave my condolences and he is on the road to fixing it.
