Help with lights
For my first major cosmetic mod I want to replace most all my outside lights and add halos. The only problem is that I have no idea where to start. As I do not trust myself to do this I will have a shop do it.
For the outside lights I'm thinking of the Night Owl system. I want to control the halos that will be put in the headlights, the fog lights, and the engine bay with it. Can it handle this? Would it be possible to add interior RGB lights to that same controller? What lights would you recommend to replace the fog lights, headlights, and taillights with. I want to use LEDs, but not the super blue ones, just WHITE ones. |

All of the above anyone can do on their own. The majority of us here did the install ourselves, but if you are very hesitant about it I am positive that the companies that you purchased the products from will be more than happy to assist you in providing info on what you need and to look out for when doing your self installs. Just let them know your situation and see what they say. Besides, I am sure there is a DIY FYI somEwhere in these forums that go into detail on whatever project you decide to tacKle.

Night owl system is great. Call Joe and let him know what you want to do and he will tell you what you need. Version 1 system master will control halos and fogs, need another module to do more. I have engine bay, grill and under glow on secondary module. Take a road trip to TX and I would be more than happy to help you install the system

Right now I've got my LED fog lights and side markers coming in along with a tint kit for the side markers that ill be doing myself. The main reason I don't want to do the other mods are that I live in a dorm on campus. Most of my tools are at home(7 hours away) and I have NO experience with wiring in cars.
Would love to take you up on the offer but TX is quite a ways form FL. If you don't mind me asking roughly how much did your setup run you? I want to do that basic setup plus have interior foot-wells, cup holders, and dome lights on a controller too. |

Roughly $800 and night owl is expandable by adding additional slave controllers.

The nightowl controller will work, but they do not sell halos for the 2014-2015 model. I know AAC/Oracle has some, not sure who else. If you don't have halos, it's best to go with OEM headlights and switch out the halos for RGB colorshift. You have to bake open the headlights, regardless of what anyone says that is not the easiest job for someone who hasn't done it before. Nightowl sells a kit to turn the 2010-2013 RS headlights into RGB without baking, but not for the 2014-2015 as there are multiple LEDs. The nightowl controller can definitely control a lot of lights if not all of them, as long as they are controlled using three signals (red, green and blue, not red, green, blue and white as a separate color)
But it gets pricey. Talk to Joe at nightowl he's extremely helpful, but doesn't have a halo for you as I said. Only the controllers |

Well...... Why can't the halos sold on Night Owls website be used and what other brands would you recommend? I've saw some oracle halos that looked nice but I have no idea what the quality is. Anyone have those? If I have to buy the OEM headlights and then swap the rings I doubt I'll be doing this. If I buy the oracle halos will they still work with the Night Owl controller?

I recommend wiring these (single color?) into your dome light with a dimmer switch and not a part of the Night Owl system. Unless of course you want RGB's flashing or pulsating.

I've been calling around and have decided on getting the Night Owl controller and hooking it up to diode dynamics halos. I plan to do the dual halo setup with the RGB halos like Oracle sells. I spoke with diode dynamics and they said once I can tell them the sizes I would need to be able to fit two side by side in the light they can ship them out. So the question is... does anyone know what sizes I would need?
