Pfadt lowering springs

Just received a set of springs for my 2015 1LE. Question is do I have to cut the bushings as the directions state? Seems like the directions are for 2010 - 2014 so not sure if there is any diffrence? Any information would be appreciated or if there is a thread on this install already please let me know as I couldn't locate it.

Thanks

It is no different for the 2015. Cutting the bump stops is a good practice when installing lowering springs regardless of manufacturers but it is not required.

Ok thank you. What could be some of the issues if I do not cut them?

When you install lowering springs and reduce ride height you are reducing suspension travel. In other words, you have increased the likelihood of bottoming out on the bump stops. By trimming them you are reclaiming some of that lost travel and decreasing the probability of that hard impact.

Understood thanks for the information. Looks like I'm taking them back out

Installed all springs today. Not sure if the 15' 1LE are diffrent because my front bushings were 1.5" when I removed them to cut. Didnt think I should cut an inch off like the directions said, so I reinstalled how I found them. Did I mess up or should I have cut an inch off? Thanks

Also had to replace one strut. As I was making the final torque on the top retaining nut the threaded part of the strut cracked and snapped off. When I checked the strut threaded end I found it was hollow...is that normal for it to be hollow?

Like I said, trimming the bump stops is not required. It is just a good practice. It is not a big deal if you don't cut as much as the directions say to or not at all.

Can you post some pics? Been thinking about getting some of these springs. Want to lower my 1le an inch but don't want to make the handling characteristics worse. How do you like them? Are they better, same, or not as good as the stock springs? I would like just a little stiffer spring than stock.

Overall, the ride is actually pretty similar to stock. Handling is better with less body roll in the corners.

Just got them installed and so far the car drives very similar to stock. Haven't taken it to the track yet but will post info when i do. Took a few turns that i normally drive on daily and def. feels locked to the ground. I have to say 10 out of 10 so far. But all will be determined at the track!
