Cleaning painted wheels

What is the best "over the counter" product I can use for my painted wheels? I don't want to pay $20 for a product I have to wait a week to get. Walmart or autozone or any place locally.

Pep boys carries some surf city garage brand wheel cleaner. It's not as good or as strong as Sonax or Adams deep wheel cleaner but it is readily available. I think it's around $15 so it's not necessarily cheaper. You get what you pay for.

With my painted wheels, they said no cleaners but only car wash soap.

If they are painted w/clear coat just use the car soap you use to clean the car with.

The brake dust is my biggest issue. About every 200 miles they start looking bad.

By the sounds of it, you clean your wheels frequently. In that case, the car wash soap you use will work just fine. There's no such thing as caked on brake dust when you never really give it a chance to "cake on."
