SOCHRISB's Supercharged SS Build Thread
I decided to make a journal of my 2012 Camaro 2SS/RS. I purchased the car in August 2014.
I kept the car mostly stock for the first few months. I purchased the Range AFM device, Cold Air Inductions intake, CFD shifter, and Pypes catback exhaust. The car was a world of difference. As winter approached, I wanted more power. One of my best friends owns a shop in my hometown. Through conversation with him I decided to get a supercharger from SLP. I elected to keep the SLP canned tune and put my stock airbox back on, at first. After a month, I contacted Cold Air Inductions and ordered the extended elbow for the SLP blower. Upon arrival, I got it tuned and re-dyno'd. 2/8 - I installed my headers, plugs and wires. Car was tuned on 2/8 by New Era and dyno'd 498whp and 488wtq. 3/14 - installed Stainless Works 3 inch Chambered Exhaust 4/7 - installed new hood. 4/16 - installed front splitter & first time at the drag strip since it was supercharged. 5/21 - powder coated wheels 5/28 - installed BMR trailing arms and toe rods, AFR and boost gauges, and transmission cooler. 6/16 - installed race scoop for CAI 6/17-6/19 - went to GM Nationals. Took 2nd Place in the 2012 Modified Camaro Class. 7/29 - new best at the track. 11.87 at 117mph. Modifications: SLP TVS 2300 Supercharger Cold Air Inductions Intake Stainless Power headers with cat delete MSD Wires NGK TR6 plugs New Era Performance Ported Throttle Body New Era Performance Tune Stainless Works 3 inch Chambered Exhaust CFD Shifter Blacked out emblems and markers Powder coated wheels RK Sport Hood Front Splitter BMR trailing arms & toe rods AFR & Boost gauge B&M transmission cooler Cold Air Intake Air Scoop Below are some pictures of the car. Since winter has yet to hit western NY, I decided to install my headers, plugs and wires. I went with Stainless Power, no cats, MSD wires and NGK TR6 plugs.

I got the car tuned yesterday. New Era Performance is top notch. Mike, the owner and tuner, is very knowledgeable and great to talk with. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the northeast

I installed my new hood. RK Sport with ram air and heat extractors. It is painted matte black. Install was easy. I had to lower the hood latch and make a few other adjustments. Overall an easy install. Took about 45mins.

It took about 8 hours to install. It was a straightforward and easy install. It's nice to have a second set of hands, as well. It comes with a canned tune from SLP. I drove around with that tune for about a month or so before I got a custom tune and installed a cold air intake.

I went to the local track for its opening test and tune weekend. It was a blast. This is the first time I ran my car since getting the supercharger. I ran between 12.337 and 12.358 on all 4 runs of the day. I couldn't get my 60ft faster than 1.93. I think it's time to invest in lowering it and getting some drag radials.
On the way there: Getting ready to get to the line: After a couple runs...was letting it cool down: One of my time slips: I had to detail it the next day and show off the splitter: Last edited by SoChrisB; 04-18-2016 at 07:56 AM. |

I like what you have done to the car. Keep posting pic of the car and what do you plan to do next?
