Tire size...what if?
My front tires are smaller than rear. What if I replaced them with all the same size so I could rotate in the future?
Dumb question?

My dealer did this. They "didn't know" the tires were different. And the wheels too. They are a pack of assh...I mean idiots.
Looked awfully funny.

you won't be able to rotate the stock wheels, though. they too are different widths and offsets.
unless you're planning on remounting them every rotation, you'll need four same size wheels. a pair of rears will work, although the wheels will come out closer to the fender on the front than the rear. I'm actually clueless to your dusk wheels; don't know their specs. What I wrote above applies to RS/SS and 1LE/ZL1 wheels. |

275/40/20's in all four corners with 20 X 9 TSW Nurburgrings. (square set-up) Rotate them every 5-6K miles.

They aren't directional, just asymmetrical.
The Goodyear's on my ZL1 are directional and asymmetrical.

One thing nice about having four wheels with the same outer diameter is that you can also have a single spare that will fill in for any corner. My 1LT has had a number of tire/ wheel swaps over the years, but the one common denominator with all has been that all four must match the spare's OD (for the record, I have yet to need my spare on this rig, but, the peace of mind is something I need, not needing to depend on a clear cell signal, tire shops being open at 2:00 AM, or wondering whether it's closer to be towed to Baker or Vegas...).
Yes, being able to rotate with reckless abandon is nice, too... I've run one set of directionals through my tire shredder, but prefer non- directional, symmetrical tires. Of course, I'm not going to find any really high performance tires, given those preferences, but (A) the gains I have thus found in those higher- end tires have been minimal, and (B) come on... it's a six. |

Nope. So long as you see the word "Outside" on the sidewall when mounted to your car, you're okay. Directional tires have an arrow on the outer sidewall, indicating the forward rotational direction when mounted on your car. DO NOT rotate directional tires.

I'm assuming they are different sizes to aid in track performance. Not sure how much though. I also like the look with different sizes- nice stance.
I have 275's on the front, with suspension lowered about an 1" and they fit fine. They are on 20x9.5 wheels. So you could do 275's all around if you wanted too (I have 315's on 20x11 on rear, so not set up like what you may be looking for).
