Rear License Plate LED Mod

Just installed LEDs for the rear License Plate lights -

NOTE - you need two (2) Bulb 194 w/5 LED Matrix White Single as there are two housings. I will not recommend where I got them as it took 3 weeks to get with no feedback & several attempts to email for status then they just showed up. These run $7.99-$8.99 each.

The white matches well to the HID Halos - observe local/State laws if you consider another color.

Installing the Interior / Trunk LEDs from Advanced Auto Concepts when the arrive - http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...ROD&ProdID=457 - Note - just saw they carry the 194 LED so that's a better choice...http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...ROD&ProdID=305... opt for the 5 LED.

Yes - its plug & play - better to do in the daylight with the lights OFF as the bulb you'll be removing is quite hot if the lights are on (with lights on use a paper towel or clean rag to remove the stock 194 bulb):

1) there is a clip at the left end of the housing - push to right and the housing should start to come down, you may have wiggle the clip to get the housing moving.

2) housing will pull out with the wires still attached to the socket, gently turn the socket to remove it from the housing.

3) Remove stock 194 bulb by pulling straight out. Replace with 194 LED, push in until tight. Re-connect socket with housing, turning socket until it locks in the housing

4) Re-seat housing in the bumper, clip goes on the left, until housing is flush & secure.

5) Repeat 1-4 with the other side. REMEMBER - there are two (2) bulbs/housing so you need to be sure you order two 194s from wherever you purchase.

Took 5 minutes to complete. I retained the old 194 blubs in the box where I keep the growing number of stock parts I've removed.

JB Power Centre sells these LEDs for $13 plus tax. I just picked up two bulbs for the $13 and I'm headed outside to install them. I cant wait to see them tonight when its dark out!
