btr stage two vs btr stage three blower cam
thinking about changing my current setup over the winter months, and looking for some opinions. i have purchased a circle d 2800 single disc converter and was leaning more towards the stage two cam. im thinking with the stock unported heads the stage three might be overkill or even harm performance. running a maggie 2300 with eight psi pulley. if anyone is running one of these cams i would like to hear about driveability and performance gains.

Had the BTR stage 2 installed a couple months ago, and really happy with the gains, drivability has been fine.
I'm running more boost, but was at 533 @ 11 psi. Added the cam and meth, now at 640 (similar boost). Drivability is good to me. It needs more clutch starting from a stop, but no different otherwise after you get going.

stage 3 has no issues either.. if you think stage 3 is a big loppy idle cam, its not... there wasn't really a problem starting out with 3.73 gears but 3.91 are better in my opinion even though not needed.
I would say the 3 most common are BTR stage 3, GT9 lingenfelter, and texas Speed blower cam. But, give Florida speed and power a shout they make some bad ass cars. plus you can ask matt the tuner what works good with the setup your thinking about.

I've had both, both are good cams but the 3 makes more power and is a good PD blower cam.

Ive had both and currently using the stage 3. I liked the stage 2 better, but the 3 has given me better drivability since going to E85. On 93 they both act the same.
I still have the stage 2 in my garage if you would be interested in it. My setup is similar to yours. |

Matt has a custom grind cam that he offers, I run it and am happy with it, slight chop, nothing to brag about. But effective.

IMHO the best thing to do would be to get one custom spec'd specifically for your vehicle and your mods, Pat G can set you up with a custom spec'd cam for your vehicle at really not much more than an off the shelf cam.

It was my understanding with the L99 to LS3 conversion the stall was needed. I did all the upgrades as well.
