I had the same complaint with the stock Goodyears. I have switched to Michelins PSS and much better colder weather traction. I too was having fun trying to control the beast on cold tires. I have a whole new respect for race car drivers.

these Trofeos are great warm & dry, but really suck when cold and wet. A great compromise for an individual that never intends to track the car is the Michelin Pilot SS or the Nitto NT01. Yes, I know the NT01 in an R comp, but it has better tread depth and street manners than the Trofeo.

MPSS tires are King if they ever come off back order. I switched to Bridgestone SO4s.
