Fuel pump replacement question

I just replaced my fuel pumps and cranked it up, all good. I just remembered I forgot to connect the line at the bottom of the fuel pump bucket. It's the quick connect line that stays in the tank when you remove the pump.

What does this line do? Most important does it have to be hooked up?
Thanks in advance

It should be the connection from the other part of the tank.

I believe it allows the bucket's venturi system to pull fuel from another area of the tank during hard cornering, but I could be wrong.

That line draws fuel from the other side of the saddle shaped tank.
You will not be able to use all the fuel in the tank. Best fix it.
