Gas Cap.

I wonder why GM didn't design the gas cap cover to be locking? With the price of fuel and people wanting to steal gas and all.

Just wondered.

This has been posted many times I can't remember exactly but basically something is built into the neck of the tank i believe which makes stealing fuel impossible. Not 100% but i know its been mentioned. And like I said last time it was posted has anyone ever really tried to steal your gas? I mean gas has stayed down its not like last summer. I have never heard of any gas theft in my area.

Not to be nit picky here but technically the camaro isn't a 40k plus car, you only hit that number because of accessories, wheels and ground effects. Its definitely in the under 40k market segment.

I find the fuel fill being on the passenger side more annoying.

Isn't it mesh built in along the track? You can't get the hose all the way down thus cannot steal the gas. Seems simple.... can anyone confirm?

I've heard the same thing about the last several model years of cars. My only concern is, like 2SSARME said, jealous plicks pouring stuff in the tank.

me too.
gas is cheap compared to replacing a complete fuel system, and whatever else they stuff they pour in does.

There is a "roll over" valve in the filler neck or just inside the tank. Its used more for roll over accidents but it also guards against theft.

GM does make some caps that lock but not many. The biggest problem with locking caps is most do not seal completely which will cause a evap leak and turn on the SES light.
