I have a 2014 ZL1, anyone know if there's a way to get the guide lines for the back up camera? The 2015s come with them. Any software update available or some sort of hack?

You could buy an aftermarket camera with the guidelines in them. Would run you between $100-200. They are quite good and work very well.

Does anyone know if the lines are from the unit, or from the camera itself.

The lines in my 2015 are from the head unit. But as I previously stated, you can purchase an after market camera with the lines in the camera. Works quite well.
