Ported Throttle Body Data

There are lots of opinions on PBT - whether you get any hp gains or not. Most of them passionate!

However, I've seen conflicting data - does anyone have any dyno data that shows the facts? Or an explanation why some dyno data shows no gain and others may show some gain?

Searching for truth!!

Provided the faster response I received after the swap, was the best performance for dollar upgrade to date, even if the Dyno lied about my gains.

A part can perform different on the street versus on the dyno. I do not seek the best dyno numbers. I seek the best real world results.

We have seen gains from VMax Ported TBs. I would get this more for the improved throttle response than the HP gains. Very good bang for the buck Modification. We are sold on them but to each his own.

All the best,

I agree with JDP. The response is very noticeable. I've never had a problem either.....

Bo White ported TB showed I think a 6hp gain from 4K to redline but seriously you're buying it for the throttle response mostly I'd say. Wish we could do a cable throttle body...

When my car was strapped down to the dyno at JRE (with all the mods in my sig) we swapped out my oem unit for a VMAXX one. He tried several pulls on a completely warmed motor and tried several different tweeks to make power and yielded nothing. He looked at me and asked if I wanted to keep it on the car, I told him if it made any definitive power keep it on. As you can see from my sig, I do not have one... I was there for all pulls...

Perhaps this was a bad one? I doubt it, these are CNC milled units so the consistency should be there.

There are others out there that modify the blade fixture that might create more volume, or perhaps less disturbed air???

I have a Bo White PTB stage 2 and do not care what it shows on dyno. I just know the car has better throttle response on the road.

My results mimic yours. I tested 2. No gains.
