ZL1 question:using PTM at the track
I have been going to a track that's 3 miles from my house, a little 1/8th mile that doesn't even have time working or slips. That makes it a bit hard to see how I'm doing. My question of the PTM is, is it worth using or should I go full traction control off? I put it in PTM5 but half the time at least it seems the PTM makes the car fall on its face off the line. It will spin a bit, kill power then let it come back. This is with drag radials.

Always run at the strip with everything off.

Yea that is what I will try next time I go. I just thought it was suppose to help at the strip as well. The no lift shift should still function with all nannies off correct? I'm sure I read no lift shift is always available.

Run with all nannies off, unless you are spinning a ton and have trouble controlling it with your foot.
With drag radials, I would venture to say that you should be able to launch better/cut a better 60' with no nannies. Ideally, you would be a track with timers and be able to compare nannies vs no nannies |

I never had any luck with PTM 5...turn off everything via a 7 sec push of the traction control button

Since the track doesn't have times, I may eventually have a vbox or whatever it is called so I can see some times.

On street tires I always run in PTM5. I never had any problems with it and on street tires it allowed me to pull mid 1.6 60' times stock. Now that I have drag radials, I turn everything off.
Now because you have a manual, maybe it is a bit different. I assume that because you're nose diving after spinning, the computer is trying to not let things get out of hand. If you turn everything off, you're going to have to try to control wheel spin yourself. Good luck.

I don't think I'll have any issues controlling it with everything off. I've had another car that was quick with no traction control on it period
