20" summer to 18" winter tires screw up speedometer?

I just had 18" ACA rims and Pirelli Scorpion snow and ice tires delivered. Sometime around Thanksgiving I'm going to switch out the 20's for winter driving. I'm wondering if that's going to throw off the speedometer/odometer readings and what to do about it.

Not if you increase the tire wall size to accomidate...It would look weird though!

Well, the winter Pirelli's are definitely taller walls than the summer tires so maybe that makes up the difference. Ordered from Tirerack.com.

I might be wrong, but I think if you go through the options at Tirerack to select your make/model, it tries to give you the same overall dimensions to match your existing setup.

When I selected Camaro, it made me select the model and RS/Non RS before it gave me sizes.

I was, also, looking at getting 18's and snowtires to replace the 20's.

What is the tire size on the Scorpions? The 245/55R18 is the closest to the stock tire height and will not mess up your speedo/odo readings.

It will just look like a base LS Camaro but with nicer looking rims.

Oh wow, I'm in good shape. I did receive the Scorpions 245/55R18. I love the ASA rims. (JH9816K for $89 each on closeout) they look awesome. Total cost with sensors, black valves, tires and shipping came to $1365 but I can live with that since I know my tread life will be greatly extended by swapping wheels out this way. I'm ready to rock and roll when this car comes in hopefully within the next 2 weeks. Got my Zaino polish kit, Amsoil signature series 0W-30 100% synthetic, and winter wheels ready to go! I'll eventually be looking at GMPP CAI, exhaust, and some painted stripes and engine cover down the road.

Actually, just google "tire size calculator" and there are a million search results for calculators where you put in your stock tire size, and then desired plus-size or minus-size and can just play with it until they're the overall same size.

I changed out my stock set up with a wheel/tire combo that is .9" shorter in height. Threw off the speedo by 2-3 mph. I know 'cause my Garmin GPS was spot on with the speedo before the change.
